There are many situations where training will benefit from the availability
of an instructor's aid -- a person who is probably not qualified
to lead the training, but can show trainees around, talk to them
about company's policies, answer frequently asked questions,
will help trainees familiarize themselves with equipment and
environment. Availability of such person in real life is not guaranteed,
but AHG's robotic avatar technology allows you to have such
an aid played by a programmable robot. This works especially well for the
Generation Y, but experience shows that carefully thought through and effectively
designed simulation works well for pre-retirees, as it does for
this year's college graduates.
Robotic avatar engine allows you to have unlimited
number of robotic instructors, which are logged in Second Life on demand,
provide a guided tour or lesson(s)
for trainees and log out after the session is completed. During the session
robotic instructors can ask trainee to repeat specific
steps and provide trainee with a feedback. Several robotic instructors
can operate at the same time, providing guided tours to different trainees
in different locations.
Robotic Instructors are often used for new hire orientation and onboarding,
but can be also used
in any situation where you need a guide to accompany and demonstrate something
to trainee or a visitor.
Instructional designers, take notice: Robotic instructors are
controlled without
using a single line of computer code! Intuitive web interface
allows you to build a lesson from the scratch, or easily modify
existing lessons. To do this, you enter the following information into
the web-based forms:
- Coordinates of the "stops" you want to include in your
tour;
- Text to be said by robot to a trainee;
- Select appropriate animation and gestures (pointing to a certain object,
etc.);
- Select actions that trainee is expected to accomplish and robot's
reaction to correct and incorrect actions by a trainee.
As with other AHG products, Robotic Instructors simulation
links to a database or LMS
located on your enterprise network, so all sensitive data are located behind corporate
firewall and you have a record of all trainees who took the course(s) and
completed it successfully.
For companies who want to test out Second Life simulations capabilities prior
to committing to a full-scale program, we offer
lite version of Robotic Instructors simulation.
Robotic Instructors simulation can also be used as part of
our new hire orientation / onboarding package in Second Life,
or as stand-alone product.
If you are interested in licensing Robotic Instructors simulation for your
Second Life project, please, call (814)867-3200 or contact us to discuss
your project specifications and arrange a demo.
